Dancers from across Alberta made their way to Fox Creek on May 24 for the annual Fox Creek Highland Dance Competition.
The event brought competitors, families and supporters together for a full day of Highland dancing. Participants travelled from communities around the province to take part in the competition.
Following the event, organizers thanked the many volunteers and sponsors who helped make the day possible.
“A huge thank you to our sponsors and day-of volunteers,” organizers said. “Without them, this event would not happen.”
The competition has become a regular event on the community calendar and continues to attract dancers from outside the region. Throughout the day, competitors took part in a variety of events while family members and spectators watched from the sidelines.
Organizers also thanked everyone who made the trip to Fox Creek to compete and said they were pleased with how the day went.
The Fox Creek Highland Dance Competition committee is already looking ahead to next year and hopes to welcome many of the same dancers back for next year’s annual event.
