Valleyview horse show wraps up another year

By Haylee Dianne

The Valleyview & Districts Agricultural Society ran its All-Breeds Horse Show out at the Ag Society grounds. Riders of all ages came out for the two days of classes, from the little ones in Peewee events right up through the open classes.

All Breeds shows draw a mix of riders and disciplines under one roof — English, western, gymkhana-style events, kids just starting out on lead line. It gives families a reason to load up the trailer and make a weekend of it, even if nobody’s chasing a championship.

The Valleyview show is the biggest event on the society’s calendar, but it’s not the only one. They run Barrel Jackpots and Gymkhana events through the season too, and the Crocus Hill Fair is coming up next, which will have its own horse classes.

Once the show wrapped, the society put out a thank-you, saying there were a lot of hands involved in pulling the weekend off, too many to list them all.

“The Valleyview Agricultural Society thanked the many volunteers and community members who helped make the 2026 Valleyview All Breeds Horse Show a success.”

Some of what got done: grounds crew work, setup, hosting a judge for the weekend, even pony stuffies made up for the Peewee contestants. Small stuff that adds up over two days.

The society says none of it happens without that kind of help, and they’re already looking ahead to next year’s show.

Anyone looking for entry forms, volunteer spots, or the event schedule can check the Valleyview Agricultural Society’s Equine Events page or watch for updates in their Facebook page.
