Valleyview Mayor Glenn Burke recently shared his appreciation after taking part in Sturgeon Lake Treaty Days, describing the event as a day filled with community spirit, laughter and hospitality.
Burke said he began the day judging the parade before spending part of the afternoon in the dunk tank, where Chief and Council made sure he got dunked more than a few times.
The day wrapped up with Burke joining Valleyview Councillor Kerri Danner as a judge for the lip sync competition, where he said there was plenty of talent and great energy throughout the event.
Burke also thanked everyone at Sturgeon Lake for making him feel welcome, saying the kindness, conversations and hospitality meant a great deal.
He said opportunities like Treaty Days help bring communities together and strengthen relationships with neighbours.
