The Valleyview Cup Hockey Tournament and Valleyview Tin Cup Golf Tournament have reached a big fundraising milestone, with the two events now at $300,000 in lifetime giving to Make-A-Wish Canada.
The tournaments have brought the Valleyview community together over the years to raise money and help make wishes come true for children across Canada.
Curtis Swenson and Travis Seweryn have helped lead the tournaments and their fundraising efforts.
The community’s continued support has made a difference for wish kids and their families.
One of those children is Dwight, a Make-A-Wish Canada wish kid who had his wish granted this past spring. His wish was a trip to his favourite theme park in Florida.
The $300,000 total comes from years of fundraising through the Valleyview Cup and Tin Cup. It is a milestone for the tournaments and for the people in the community who have supported them along the way.
For the Valleyview organizers, the tournaments are about getting people together, having some fun and raising money for children and families who are waiting for a wish to come true.
Reaching $300,000 gives the community another number to be proud of, but the reason for the fundraising remains the same — helping Make-A-Wish Canada grant wishes to children across the country.
