Residents in several communities across the Municipal District of Greenview No. 16 are advised that bi-annual hydrant flushing began May 11 and will continue until June 30, 2026.
The maintenance program is taking place in DeBolt, Ridgevalley, Little Smoky, Valleyview Rural and Grovedale as part of ongoing efforts to maintain water quality and ensure hydrants are functioning properly for emergency services.
During the flushing period, residents may notice temporary discoloured water or a drop in water pressure. Greenview recommends running cold water taps until the water clears if discolouration occurs and advises residents to avoid doing laundry while flushing is taking place in their area.
Officials say the routine maintenance is an important part of maintaining the reliability and safety of the water system.
