Residents gathered in Fox Creek this week for the Town of Fox Creek’s Emergency Preparedness BBQ, an event designed to connect the community with local emergency services, organizations, and preparedness resources.
The event saw strong community participation, with residents stopping by to meet first responders and representatives from various agencies, ask questions, and learn more about emergency preparedness in the region. Organizers said the event highlighted the importance of community connections and being prepared for emergencies.
A special thank you was extended to Pembina Pipeline Corporation for helping make the event possible by providing the barbecue and food for attendees. Town officials noted the company’s continued support of community initiatives is greatly appreciated.
Several organizations, agencies, and businesses took part in the event, including the Alberta Sheriffs, St. John Ambulance, Greenview Search and Rescue, Alberta Wildfire, Fish and Wildlife, Portage College’s Fungal Project, Fox Creek School, Victim Services, Alexander Safety, Fox Creek Insurance, Echo, the Fox Creek Fire Department, Alberta Safety, ATCO, ATB, Emergency Management Logistics, and Apex/IMS.
Organizers also thanked the many volunteers and community members who helped plan and support the event behind the scenes.
Town officials said they appreciate the continued support from the community and look forward to hosting future events together.
